Basketball Recap: Addison Bowlin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Boaz over Alexandria

Boaz was the 37-23 winner over Alexandria when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Boaz Pirates took a 59-45 bruising from the Alexandria Valley Cubs on Monday.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addison Bowlin, who went 6 of 12 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Breanna Gentry, who went 6 of 14 en route to 17 points and five rebounds.

Boaz now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Alexandria, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-11.

Boaz wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-20 victory against Crossville on the 7th. As for Alexandria, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-40 loss against Cherokee County on the 7th.
