The Wichita HomeSchool Warriors will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool Nighthawks on December 21st. Wichita HomeSchool will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool is ranked 34th).
Last Saturday, Wichita HomeSchool was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-40 to Marion.
Meanwhile, after a string of 12 wins dating back to last season, Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 69-49 loss at the hands of Centralia.
Despite their defeat, Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Amy Holloway, who scored 16 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Sifford, who scored 12 points.
Wichita HomeSchool now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-1.
Wichita HomeSchool strolled past Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 64-50.
