Basketball Recap: Southampton Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Southampton can now relate to. They took a 73-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arcadia Firebirds on Tuesday. The Indians have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Arcadia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryheim Pettit out in front who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Pettit's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points. Jordan Cropper was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and ten boards.

Southampton's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Arcadia, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-6.

Southampton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arcadia, they will challenge John Marshall on Thursday. One thing working in Arcadia's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups.
