Volleyball Recap: West Bend West Comes Up Short

If West Bend West was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Plymouth on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pewaukee Pirates on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Laila Hertel paced West Bend West's offense, picking up four kills. Hertel got some help from Ella Henschel and her six assists.

West Bend West has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Pewaukee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-5.

West Bend West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Oconomowoc on the 19th. As for Pewaukee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Neenah on the 19th.
