Winning always takes teamwork, but on Thursday Gretchan Hiley stepped things up a notch to give Athens the 'W'. Hiley made a splash, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. Considering she played a big game the last time she faced off against Troy back in March, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Hiley has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Hiley and Athens will be taking part in a tournament against Berwick at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Thanks in part to Hiley's efforts, the Wildcats will roll in undefeated.
