Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Marion). They were the clear victors by a 21-2 margin over the Tylertown Chiefs on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Trojans with their most commanding win of the season.
West Marion got a big performance out of Braxton Albritton, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Albritton has posted since back in February. Tyler Manning also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Albritton wasn't the only one working in the hit department: West Marion kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's a new trend for West Marion: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.4.
West Marion's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. As for Tylertown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
