Baseball Recap: Abingdon's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Abingdon waltzed into their game on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Lebanon Pioneers with a sharp 7-1 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-2 back in March.

Abingdon pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Lebanon, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-4.

Abingdon and Lebanon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Falcons will square off against Ridgeview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (11 vs. 210). Meanwhile, Lebanon (ranked 56th) will meet Graham (ranked 324th) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
