Basketball Game Preview: Atkinson County Rebels vs. Berrien Rebels

Atkinson County and Berrien are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2019, but not for long. The Atkinson County Rebels will head out to square off against the Berrien Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Atkinson County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 62 points last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Ware County on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 70-17 loss at the hands of the Gators. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Gators are ranked 111th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Berrien, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They breezed by Brooks County to the tune of 66-32 on Tuesday. That looming 66-32 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rebels yet this season.

The victory got Berrien back to even at 4-4. As for Atkinson County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Atkinson County strolled past Berrien in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a score of 62-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Atkinson County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
