Softball Game Preview: Northeast Dubois Jeeps vs. Pike Central Chargers

Northeast Dubois hasn't had much luck against Pike Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Jeeps are taking a road trip to challenge the Chargers at 5:30 p.m. Pike Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Northeast Dubois, who comes in off a win.

On Tuesday, Northeast Dubois earned a 15-11 victory over Forest Park. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jeeps.

Meanwhile, Pike Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to Tell City.

Pike Central saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Howard, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another was Lila Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Northeast Dubois' win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Pike Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Northeast Dubois was able to grind out a solid victory over Pike Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jeeps since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
