Baseball Recap: Friendship Christian Victorious

The Friendship Christian Commanders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the Providence Christian Academy LIONS on Friday.

Hayden Holleman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleb Kring, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Friendship Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Providence Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 3-4-1.

Looking ahead, Friendship Christian is taking a road trip to take on Beech at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Beech will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Friendship Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Providence Christian Academy, they will head out to challenge Lebanon at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
