Softball Game Preview: Steele Comets vs. Berea-Midpark Titans

The Steele Comets are taking a road trip to square off against the Berea-Midpark Titans at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Berea-Midpark took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Steele, who comes in off a win.

Steele barely beat Strongsville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Comets' pitchers stepped up to hand the Mustangs a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Comets have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Berea-Midpark fell victim to Chardon and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hilltoppers, falling 12-0. The game marked the first time this season in which the Titans were not able to get on the board.

The victory made it two in a row for Steele and bumps their season record up to 17-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Berea-Midpark, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

Steele came out on top in a nail-biter against Berea-Midpark in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
