Basketball Recap: St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints vs. Catholic Crusaders
While it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes was not quite Catholic's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crusaders. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Crusaders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marcus Hancock, who went 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds. Hancock is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Mark Stafford Jr. was another key player, putting up 13 points and five boards.
It was another big night for Dean Williams, who shot 50% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals for Catholic. Tabren Hawkins also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' record is now 1-1. As for Catholic, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
St. Stephen's & St. Agnes wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-46 victory against Trinity Episcopal on the 6th. As for Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 74-48 defeat against Episcopal on the 6th.
