Football Game Preview: Germantown Red Devils vs. Southwind Jaguars + How To Watch

Germantown is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Southwind is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Red Devils will welcome the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Friday, Germantown was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 29-24 to Munford.

Meanwhile, Southwind was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past PURE Academy 48-15. Considering the Jaguars have won eight contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Germantown better keep an eye on Kelvin Perkins. He was instrumental in Southwind's win, throwing for 316 yards and five TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of scores on the ground. Those 316 passing yards gave Perkins a new career-high. Willie Wilkins was Perkins' top target, picking up 46 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Southwind's defense and their four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Rosevelt Bates and Kaveous Middleton, who racked up all four sacks between them.

Southwind's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Germantown, their loss dropped their record down to 7-2.
