Softball Recap: Chancellor Chargers vs. Albemarle Patriots
Chancellor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 24th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-2 to the Albemarle Patriots.
Chancellor saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Francesca Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. Zenobia Settles also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Chancellor's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Albemarle, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
Looking ahead, Chancellor is taking a road trip to challenge Courtland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Albemarle, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Goochland at 6:30 p.m. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
