Basketball Recap: River View's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

River View won the last time they faced West Holmes and things went their way on Saturday too. The River View Black Bears narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the West Holmes Knights 59-57. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Black Bears.

River View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layton Massie, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 18 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Laired Williamson, who posted 14 points.

River View's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10. As for West Holmes, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the loss, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

River View will face off against Coshocton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coshocton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something River View surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Holmes, they will take on Triway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Triway knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully West Holmes likes a good challenge.
