Softball Recap: Kaufman's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Kaufman's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past the Terrell Tigers 11-4. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Trinity Frye spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Kaufman got a massive performance out of Abeni Nava, who went 4-for-5 with two triples, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave Nava a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sadie Waters, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Kaufman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kaufman moved to 8-14-2 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Terrell, they dropped their record down to 3-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Kaufman will welcome Midlothian Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Terrell, they will venture away from home to face off against Midlothian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season.
