Basketball Recap: Grafton's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

After flying high against Bartlett last Thursday, Grafton came back down to earth. The Grafton Gators took a 79-63 bruising from the Doherty Memorial Highlanders on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while the Highlanders are ranked 15th).

Grafton's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Doherty Memorial, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grafton will square off against Southbridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grafton is facing Southbridge at the right time seeing as Southbridge is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Doherty Memorial has already played their next matchup (against Lincoln-Sudbury), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
