Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Christian Warriors vs. Windermere Prep Lakers

The Calvary Christian Warriors will challenge the Windermere Prep Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Calvary Christian heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Tuesday. They fell just short of Academy of the Holy Names by a score of 35-32. That makes it the first time this season the Warriors have let down their home crowd.

Despite the defeat, Calvary Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ellie Bross posted 13 points along with three steals and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Windermere Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Highland Prep on Saturday, taking the game 61-52. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lakers.

Calvary Christian better keep an eye on Jazlyn Bowman. She was instrumental in Windermere Prep's win, putting up 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Evans, who had ten points and eight rebounds.

Windermere Prep was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They racked up six more assists than Lake Highland Prep's also-impressive total of ten.

Windermere Prep pushed their record up to 19-7 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Calvary Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 19-2.
