Republic County entered their tilt with Plainville on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They blew past the Cardinals 14-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-7 on Tuesday.

Drew Skocny made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Skocny was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since April 1st.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grae Siemsen, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Bri Horner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Republic County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in six consecutive matches.

Republic County's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Plainville, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coming up, Republic County will look to defend their home field on May 9 against Beloit at 4:00 p.m. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Buffaloes surely won't give up without a fight. Plainville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
