Soccer Game Preview: Beacon Academy vs. Morgan Park Academy

The Beacon Academy Trailblazers will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the Morgan Park Academy Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Beacon Academy is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Lycee Francais de Chicago back in March, falling 8-1. The loss continues a trend for Beacon Academy in their meetings with Lycee Francais de Chicago: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Morgan Park Academy and Chicago Christian combined for 15 shots on goal on Wednesday, which explains the impressive seven total goals scored. The Warriors lost 6-1 to the Knights. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Morgan Park Academy were already down 5-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Zoya D'Antignac, which was the first she's scored this season.

Beacon Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Morgan Park Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 2-0. Will the Trailblazers repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
