Basketball Recap: Pike Red Devils vs. Plainfield Quakers

Pike had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Plainfield Quakers 64-62. For the Red Devils, this counts as revenge for the 48-43 victory the Quakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Plainfield saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hannah Menser posted 20 points and four steals. Menser has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Caroline Pugh, who had eight points and seven boards.

Pike has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Plainfield, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 17-6.
