The Maconaquah Braves will take on the Taylor Titans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Maconaquah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Maconaquah took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Tipton.
Caiden Richards spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kobe Bowman and Bennett Isenburg did most of the damage at the plate: Bowman went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double, while Isenburg went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three RBI gave Bowman a new career-high. Jayden Mercer was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Meanwhile, Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Western, falling 14-2.
Taylor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charles Newby, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Maconaquah, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Taylor's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Maconaquah has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Taylor, though, as they've been averaging only 2.9 strikeouts. Will Maconaquah keep running through batters, or will the Titans buck the trend?
Everything went Maconaquah's way against Taylor in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Maconaquah made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Braves repeat their success, or do the Titans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
