Basketball Game Preview: Satanta Indians vs. Hodgeman County Longhorns

Satanta hasn't had much luck against Hodgeman County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Satanta Indians will look to defend their home court against the Hodgeman County Longhorns at 8:00 p.m.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-46, which was the final score in Satanta's tilt against Kiowa County on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while the Mavericks are ranked 80th).

Meanwhile, Hodgeman County posted their biggest win since January 14th on Friday. Everything went their way against Ingalls as Hodgeman County made off with a 57-34 victory. The Longhorns have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Satanta's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Hodgeman County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Satanta lost to Hodgeman County at home by a decisive 73-58 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Thankfully for Satanta, Owen Reece (who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 11 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
