Baseball Recap: Simon Gratz Comes Up Short

Simon Gratz lost to John Bartram back in May of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bulldogs fell 8-4 to the Braves. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Yamil Vidal made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Raymond Reveror was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Simon Gratz's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for John Bartram, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2-1 record this season.

Simon Gratz didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 24-3 victory against Sankofa Freedom Academy on the 27th. As for John Bartram, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hill Freedman World Academy at 3:15 p.m. on the 30th. The Hawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.2 runs per game on average), something the Braves will no doubt try to take advantage of.
