Softball Recap: Somerville Takes a Loss

If Somerville was feeling good fresh off their 19-1 takedown of Snook on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yeguas lost 11-2 to the Burton Panthers on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Yeguas in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Somerville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kylie Jo Neuendorff, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Somerville's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for Burton, they pushed their record up to 7-11 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

While Somerville had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
