Preview: River Valley Falcons vs. Yuba City Honkers
The River Valley Falcons will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Yuba City Honkers at 7:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with eight consecutive losses for River Valley and six for Yuba City.
River Valley suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. Their rough 68-45 loss to Woodcreek might stick with them for a while. River Valley has not had much luck with Woodcreek recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Gurtaran Sanghu, who scored eight points along with five assists. Yuvraj Dosanjh was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Yuba City was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 59-54 to Bella Vista.
River Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Yuba City, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-13.
River Valley suffered a grim 59-38 defeat to Yuba City in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can River Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
