Football Recap: Flour Bluff Piles Up the Points Against Harlingen South

Flour Bluff won the last time they faced Harlingen South and things went their way on Friday too. The Hornets blew past the Hawks 49-6. Fans of the Hornets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Lucian Cruz was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 332 yards and four TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 33 yards. Another player making a difference was Samuel Smith, who rushed for 96 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Flour Bluff's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Anthony Mimms and Landon Green, who racked up five sacks between them. Mimms is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season.

The victory (which was Flour Bluff's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points on average this season. As for Harlingen South, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
