Baseball Recap: Dade Christian Comes Up Short

Dade Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Keys Gate Knights.

Dade Christian got a good showing from Jonathan Rios, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Rios has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Yenizon Reyes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

Dade Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Keys Gate, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-11 record this season.

Dade Christian will venture away from home to square off against Coral Park at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Keys Gate, they will be playing at home against Ferguson at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
