Basketball Recap: Chamberlain Falls Short of Blake in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Chamberlain couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were beaten by the Blake Yellow Jackets 99-60 on Wednesday. The Storm have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Leading Blake to victory were Joshua Lewis and Joe Philon. Lewis dropped a triple-double with 21 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists, while Philon dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Philon has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Marion Ward, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine assists.

Chamberlain's defeat dropped their record down to 19-9. As for Blake, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 23-4.

Chamberlain does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blake, they will square off against Boca Ciega at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Blake knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Boca Ciega likes a good challenge.
