Highland is 8-2 against Mark Twain since May of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will square off against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Highland is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Highland challenged Macon on Thursday. The Cougars came up short against the Tigers, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Mark Twain brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They came out on top against Wellsville-Middletown on Thursday by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Mark Twain hasn't had any issues with Wellsville-Middletown recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Nolan Epperson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 17 over 5.2 innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brayden Moss, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. JR Henderson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Mark Twain's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-12.

Highland suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Mark Twain when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
