Basketball Recap: David Emanuel Academy Takes a Loss

David Emanuel Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were outmatched by the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans and fell 53-24. The Eagles were not able to make up for their loss to the Spartans from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, David Emanuel Academy still got an impressive performance from Ethan Fields, who posted 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals. That was a full 50% of the Eagles' points, marking the third time in a row Fields has scored more than a third of the team's points.

As for Edmund Burke Academy, the victory got them back to even at 1-1. Surprisingly, this marked their fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edmund Burke Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cohen Felix, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 18 points. Ryan Reddick was another key player, putting up six points along with seven assists and six steals.

David Emanuel Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 60-25 defeat against Robert Toombs Christian Academy on the 11th. As for Edmund Burke Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-26 win against John Hancock Academy on the 11th.
