Volleyball Recap: Portsmouth West's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After a string of three wins, Portsmouth West's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Federal Hocking Lancers. If the Senators were looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to the Lancers when the teams met back in October of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Macey Whisman paced Portsmouth West's offense, picking up six kills. Whisman got some help from Brayleigh Pistole and her 12 assists. Whisman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Portsmouth West now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Federal Hocking, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Coincidentally, Portsmouth West and Federal Hocking will both be playing Ironton the next time they take the court. The Lancers will head out to face the Fighting Tigers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Senators will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
