Softball Recap: Straughn Comes Up Short

If Straughn was feeling good fresh off their 8-0 takedown of Pike County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Andalusia Bulldogs on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.

Straughn now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Andalusia, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Andalusia will take on Dale County in a tournament on Friday. Straughn will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' matchup: after the Bulldogs faces off against the Warriors, they'll take on Straughn again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
