Basketball Recap: Isabela Major's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pleasant Ridge over Oskaloosa

Pleasant Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 54-39 bruising from the Oskaloosa Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 32-28 back in December of 2024.

Pleasant Ridge's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabela Major, who posted 12 points and five steals. Mj Haack was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Pleasant Ridge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

Pleasant Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Oskaloosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Pleasant Ridge will face off against Doniphan West at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. Oskaloosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
