Creekside Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Lovejoy Wildcats 52-32. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Creekside Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Laila Placide, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Placide is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyara Ware, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Creekside Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive contests.

Lovejoy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Charlye Fairchild, who earned 15 points and eight rebounds, and Jabria LeSane, who put up 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That was a full 43.8% of Lovejoy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Creekside Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Lovejoy, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Creekside Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on McDonough at 12:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Lovejoy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-18 victory against Wilkinson County on the 27th.
