Softball Recap: Apollo Takes a Loss

Apollo fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Robertsdale on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 4-3. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Apollo got a good showing from Mollie Julian, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Apollo saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keelan Wettstain, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4. Abie Butterworth also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Apollo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Robertsdale, they now have a winning record of 13-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Apollo will square off against Daviess County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Robertsdale, they will face off against Daphne at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
