Softball Recap: Clermont Northeastern Rockets vs. Blanchester Wildcats

Blanchester hit Clermont Northeastern with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rockets took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Jenna Brown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and seven unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bella Wilson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one double. Karlee Gamble also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Clermont Northeastern now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Blanchester, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-8.
