Basketball Recap: Clinton Takes a Loss

Clinton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 44th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Davenport North Wildcats 78-51. While losing is never fun, the River Kings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 286th, while the Wildcats are ranked 67th).

Clinton's loss dropped their record down to 0-21. As for Davenport North, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8.

Looking ahead, Clinton will welcome Davenport Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Davenport North, they are taking a road trip to take on Davenport West at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Davenport North knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Davenport West likes a good challenge.
