Football Preview: Great Plains Lutheran Panthers vs. Elkton/Lake Benton Elks        
        
		
             The Great Plains Lutheran Panthers will head out to  take on the Elkton/Lake Benton Elks  on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication,  both  will really light up the scoreboard.
 Having struggled with four  losses in a row, Great Plains Lutheran finally turned things around against Wilmot  on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Wolves  a   44-0 shutout. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most  points they've scored all season.
  Micah Holien continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 233 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. With that strong performance,  he is now averaging an impressive 114  rushing yards per game.  Brody Scharlemann was another key player, throwing for 26 yards and two touchdowns.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Great Plains Lutheran was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 325  rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're  rushing yard total in three consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile, Elkton/Lake Benton has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 12.25  points allowed per game, but that average took a hit  on Friday. They took  a  40-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hamlin. It was the first time  this season that the Elks let down their fans at home.
 The  victory  got Great Plains Lutheran back to even at 4-4. As for Elkton/Lake Benton, their  defeat was their first of the  season and  makes their record 7-1.
 Great Plains Lutheran was dealt a bruising  61-8 loss at the hands of Elkton/Lake Benton when the teams last played  back in September. Can Great Plains Lutheran avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
