Basketball Recap: Pineview Christian Takes a Loss

Pineview Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 62-55 to the Evangel Christian Lightning. While the Warriors didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lightning 25-17 in the first quarter.

Evangel Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Asa Wagoner led the charge by going 6 for 10 on his way to 18 points and seven boards. Wagoner is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Bugnar, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points and eight boards.

Pineview Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Evangel Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pineview Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on First Assembly Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Evangel Christian, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tuscaloosa Home Educators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
