Football Game Preview: Charles City Comets vs. Benton Bobcats

For the first time this season, Charles City will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will take on the Benton Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Benton took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Charles City, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Charles City earned a 19-6 win over Waterloo East.

Meanwhile, Benton came up short against Solon on Friday and fell 28-21. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Spartans are ranked 13th).

Charles City's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Benton, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.
