Volleyball Recap: Bemidji Lumberjacks vs. Detroit Lakes Lakers        
        
		
             Bemidji was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They fell just short of the Detroit Lakes Lakers by a score of  2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lumberjacks of the  3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in October of 2023.
 Bemidji started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-10,  15-8.
  Hailey Thielen had a dynamite game for Detroit Lakes,  getting 21  digs and two  aces. That high mark didn't come from nowhere:  Thielen now  had ten or more in the last three games she's  played dating back to last season.
 Bemidji now  has a losing record at 3-4. As for Detroit Lakes, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-10.
 Bemidji will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Pine River-Backus at 6:00  p.m. Pine River-Backus will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something Bemidji surely won't give up without a fight. As for Detroit Lakes, they will look to defend their home court  on Thursday against Sartell-St. Stephen  at 7:15  p.m.
