Basketball Recap: Casteel Comes Up Short

Casteel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 57-37 to the Hamilton Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Colts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 69th, while the Huskies are ranked 14th).

Hamilton found their leader in freshman Destinee Benway, who went 8 for 10 on her way to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Sipfle, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Casteel's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Hamilton, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Casteel will be playing at home against Chandler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chandler is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.3 points per game this season. As for Hamilton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-47 defeat against O'Connor on the 30th.
