Baseball Recap: Mountain View Beats Homestead for Their Third Straight Win

Mountain View extended their winning streak to three on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 12-5 in the process. They came out on top against the Homestead Mustangs by a score of 4-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 on Friday.

Brennan Dooley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Austin Xu was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Christian Bandy, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Homestead, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-8. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs in those games.

On Homestead's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Christianson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will challenge Wilcox at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Homestead, they will face off against Los Gatos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
