Charlottesville and Goochland are an even 3-3 against one another since April of 2022, but likely not for long. The Black Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Charlottesville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Charlottesville will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Fluvanna County, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Black Knights came out on top in a nail-biter against the Flying Flucos on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-2. While the Black Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Julian Mark-Williams looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Charlottesville's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Henry Hughes, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Goochland's offense. They fell just short of Monticello by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Goochland and nudges their season record down to 2-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Charlottesville, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-0.

Charlottesville took their win against Goochland when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3 score. Do the Black Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
