League recap: League leaders Brookville and Bradford to clash this week

District 9 league recap: 5/7/12

On May 9, 2012, the top two teams in the current league standings will go head to head, as Brookville and Bradford meet. The Raiders currently hold a 1.00-game lead over the Owls for first place.

District 9's longest active winning streak belongs to Brookville (8-4, 3-2), undefeated over its last four games. In the past week, the Raiders won another 2 games, includinga 17-3 win over DuBois.

Brookville's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 11 hits and eight walks to lead the league in both categories. The Raiders have given up a mere 74 hits on the year in addition to compiling 57 strikeouts. Zane Hackett is the leader in that category with 17 Ks on the season.

Seth Connor was the player of the game on May 3, 2012 with four RBIs in Brookville's 10-2 victory over St. Marys.
