Football Game Preview: Valley Oaks CES Vanguards vs. TEACH Tech Charter Rams

The Valley Oaks CES Vanguards will venture away from home to challenge the TEACH Tech Charter Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley Oaks CES has given up an average of 30.1 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Thursday, Valley Oaks CES was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to East Valley. The loss continues a trend for the Vanguards in their meetings with the Falcons: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, TEACH Tech Charter got themselves on the board against South LA College Prep on Thursday, but South LA College Prep never followed suit. They breezed past the Knights to the tune of 42-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Valley Oaks CES better keep an eye on Trayvion Kendrick. He was instrumental in TEACH Tech Charter's win, rushing for 107 yards and a pair of scores on only five carries, while also throwing for 112 yards and one TD on perfect 7-for-7 passing. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 62 yards. Another player making a difference was Damauri Coleman, who gained 114 total yards and two touchdowns.

Valley Oaks CES' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for TEACH Tech Charter, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
