Jesuit beats Elk Grove for their seventh straight win

The Jesuit Marauders had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.2 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 28-8 margin over Elk Grove. The result was nothing new for Jesuit, who have now won seven contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Jesuit's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johnnie Brannon IV, who rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Brannon IV's longest rush was for an incredible 97 yards. CJ Lee was another key contributor, rushing for 58 yards and a touchdown.

Jesuit's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24 points. As for Elk Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jesuit will square off against Davis at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Davis is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Elk Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Franklin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 566th, while Elk Grove is ranked 150th).
