Basketball Recap: Forest Hill Comes Up Short

If Forest Hill was feeling good fresh off their 61-35 takedown of Jim Hill last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Forest Hill Patriots fell 53-42 to the West Jones Mustangs on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Mustangs are ranked 30th).

Forest Hill dropped their record down to 6-17 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Jones, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-4.

Forest Hill will square off against Callaway at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Callaway knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Forest Hill likes a good challenge. As for West Jones, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 47-20 victory against Northeast Jones on the 30th.
