Soccer Game Preview: Spanish Fork vs. Maple Mountain

The Spanish Fork Dons will square off against the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Spanish Fork comes in on eight and Maple Mountain on three.

On Tuesday, Spanish Fork made easy work of Timpview and carried off a 4-1 win. Considering Spanish Fork have won six games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Timpview with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ben Clayson (2), Max Seeley, and Lukas Wilkinson.

Meanwhile, it can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Maple Mountain had no problem doing just that on Friday. They never let the Falcons get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. Give Maple Mountain's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Maple Mountain's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matchups. As for Spanish Fork, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Spanish Fork was able to grind out a solid victory over Maple Mountain in their previous matchup back in April, winning 2-0. Will the Dons repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
